Biography
A Lawyer, with a master’s degree in public administration, former chief magistrate and project manager with over 20 years of relevant work experience; 20+ years as a chief magistrate, 5+ years managing several projects including UNICEF-assisted projects, and 10+ years working as a National Programme Officer with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Worked in the area of anti-corruption and justice sector reform. Participated in and supervised large Research including “An Assessment of the Justice Sector in Nigeria,2010, An Assessment of the justice sector in Bayelsa State 2013, An Assessment of the Health and HIV Situation in Nigerian Prisons, 2016, An Assessment of the HIV situation in Borstal Institutions in Nigeria, 2015, An assessment of Women’s health Situation in Nigerian Correctional Centres, 2018, An evaluation of the level of implementation of the Child Rights Act in three Nigerian States 2018. Developed and delivered several training programmes. Knowledgeable and experienced in partnership building with the (government, UN Agencies, NGOs, academia, and media); Excellent resource mobilization, logistics coordination, monitoring and evaluation skills. Problem-solving, research and report-writing skills. Ability to use ICT applications; well-travelled, mature, result-oriented, and outstanding interpersonal skills. Passionate about improving and safeguarding the situation of women and children, hence I have volunteered my time and resources in several capacities to serve Nigeria in the interest of Children and Women. Sits on the Boards of Non-Governmental Organisations including Buni Yadi Foundation and Women Foundation for Improved Living Standard. Consultant For UNICEF, UNODC, Federal Ministry of Justice, RoLAC One Project, and ACORN ISF among others.
